Class hours: 8:00AM to 3:00 PM
Fridays are 2:00 dismissals for teacher professional development. Children will need to be enrolled in Extended Daycare, fees apply.
Our curriculum is developmentally appropriate and consists of a variety of preschool methods. We believe one method of teaching is not always supportive of the child. We believe the children should be allowed to learn and develop at their own rate. Academics should begin when the children show an interest or are developmentally ready. This can best be accomplished thorough the children's natural play, hands on experiences, and interactions with others.
We are pleased to announce the introduction of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (Atrium) program, fall of 2009. This program assists our children in their “Spiritual Journey” with God through prayer and exploration.
OLPH is offering both a part time and full time Pre-K program for the 2009-2010 school year. We will be accepting children 3 and a half (by August 1st.) to 5 years of age. We are also now DES (Department of Economic Services) Certified. Parents can visit the DES web site for more information.
Our staff use developmentally appropriate practices enriched with caring, and fun, child-driven, center-based activities both indoors and outdoors. O.L.P.H. Preschool curriculum follows Diocesan standards and is supplemented with the Doors To Discovery Early Childhood literacy program. Our goal at O.L.P.H. is to provide a Preschool program that focuses on the individual child as a whole, educationally, spiritually and emotionally as well as a member of our community.
