Music Ministry

My name is Marcos Herrera, and I am the director of Music Ministry at Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

The Music Ministry strives to be true to the Magisterium's vision of music for worship and aims to uplift the minds and hearts of the people of God during Liturgy by performing a variety of different styles of music. It does this by providing a high standard for quality music for the Liturgy, drawing from a variety of sources which includes contemporary, traditional, sacred, and chant music. Its goal is to enhance the experience of the Mass and worship, and to utilize the rich repertoire of the Roman Catholic Church’s sacred music, while respecting the traditions, culture, and customs of the people of the parish.

Music ministers are either vocalists or instrumentalists. They should have some type of musical training to provide the people of God with high level of musical quality.
